Winter   Guard

Prerequisites: None

Guard Class helps students develop skills in the area of dance and performance as it relates to color guard. This class focuses on improving strength, flexibility, and dance technique with an emphasis on working to perform together as a singular unit. 

Fall Semester: Students attend camp during the summer and are part of the Rattlesnake Regiment performing at school/community events and competitions related to the band.  Students in the guard class will also perform on stage at Serrano’s Winter Dance Concert.
 
Spring Semester: Auditions are required for Winter Guard.  Students will continue to take guard class as well as perform as part of the Serrano Winter Guard at competitions and school events.  Students will also perform on stage at the Spring Dance Showcase. 

​This is a 7th period class, as well as part of an extracurricular activity,  so this class has a unique schedule.  

*PE waiver possiblefor 10th-12th grade students who complete this course.
